Where We're From

Epworth Forest Conference Center has been doing camps for over 80 years. We're a part of Impact 2818 a camping ministry with 7 sites operated by the Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church.

 

Where We're Going

Evangelism is a vital component of what happens here. But we've discovered that there's so much more that happens beyond the moment when a person first connects to Jesus Christ. That's why we began That Thing; it's about...

• Moving beyond "Sunday Christianity"

• Discovering what it means to be missional

• Learning to live, walk and love like Christ

• Challenging learners in exploration, questioning and owning answers

• Responding to need, injustice and oppression

• Walking in Faith

Our focus is to reach people for Jesus Christ...but not firsthand.

Our goal is to reach the churched.

 

The Vision

These grounds called Epworth Forest Conference Center are hallowed. This place is honored for the scores of lives greatly impacted through decades of ministry here. They are and will continue, to be blessed in the privilege of revival as it’s ministry reaches beyond the dreams of men in the name of Jesus Christ.

The vision is a generation of impassioned Christ-like people in homes, schools, offices and positions of influence across our nation.

The vision is growing to reach 10,000 participants every year.

The vision is partnering with churches to encourage sustainable faith-communities living as Christ.

The vision is students hearing and responding to gospel, being transformed by the power of Jesus Christ and actively engaging the world with a perfect love.

The vision is students inspiring change throughout their communities as they live out the teachings of Jesus Christ.

The vision is students who love God beyond just acknowledging Him.

The vision is that injustice and oppression at home and abroad will be fought with faith, hope and love.

The vision is a people who love their neighbors as themselves.

The vision is a world alive and aflame in grace, mercy, and compassion.

The vision is a church inspired by their youth, transformed by their action and renewed in their joy.

The vision is that through the ministry at Epworth Forest Conference Center, we will bring better days to the world; beyond our church, beyond Indiana and beyond the mid-west. The vision is that the world would be a better place because Epworth Forest Conference Center was there to share the love of Jesus Christ with the generations.

 

What We Believe

Statement of Faith: We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man and that salvation is available to all in and through Him.
